Parsons The New School For Design will showcase the cream of its graduating AAS Fashion Studies class in their 2nd Annual Midseason Preview. This gallery inspired presentation will allow industry insiders a sneak peek at designs from this year's brightest new talents, in a unique and interactive setting.

This year's event takes place Friday, December 14th at Wollman Hall - 66 West 12th Street - 5th fl, (between 5th and 6th Avenues). The installation is open for public view from 3-6pm. An exclusive invitation-only Press & Industry reception featuring a live band, cocktails, hors d'oeuvres, and goodie bags immediately follows from 6-9pm, during which time designers will be available for interview. Sponsors include Izze juice, Vida champagne & tequila, Fred water, Lola Cosmetics, Ted Gibson, and Joe The Art of Coffee.

The Museum of Modern Art presents a major exhibition of the sculpture of the acclaimed American artist Martin Puryear (b. 1941). The retrospective will feature approximately forty-five sculptures, following the development of Puryear's artistic career over the last thirty years, from his first solo museum show in 1977 to the present day. Puryear began his career in the 1970s alongside other members of the Post-Minimalist generation. Working primarily in wood, he has maintained an unwavering commitment to manual skill and traditional building methods.

The Museum at FIT, Seventh Avenue at 27th Street, NYC, has launched America's first and only permanent Gallery of Fashion and Textile History. The gallery features changing selections from the Museum’s permanent collections, which are comprised of more than 50,000 garments and accessories dating from the 18th century to the present - with particular strength in contemporary designer fashion - some 30,000 textiles from the 6th to 21st centuries, as well as 300,000 textile swatches and 1,300 sample books.
